2019 Oregon white oak and sincerely dead fir snag

Current fact worth contemplating: Douglas firs are starting to succumb to drought and extreme heat in western Oregon. Oaks are taking it pretty well. #climatechange

COMMENTARY

“People have a misconception about the term ‘restoration,'...It’s such a nice word, and it makes people feel like there’s something in it for everybody. But what it really means is the restoration of ecosystem services, and there are winners and losers in that.”

“Right now, everybody is trying to protect their own interests, rather than agreeing to a compromise that would serve a more regional interest.”
